Question:

When, exactly, did winter break begin this year? There was no sendoff, no stressful projects to hand in, no tests to forget to study for.  I guess i should thank NPR for delivering the news when my television, roaming cell phone, and thermostat failed to present.  And now i'm here, sleeping in, wearing my pajamas as if they were perfectly valid clothing, and toying with the idea of reading Invisible Man.  Chris leaves for hawaii tomorrow, kelly for the caribbean. I hope they cancel midwinter break. Blasphemy, i know, but I'm not going to school through july this year.  I'm off to wrap presents.

Since when did I, Allison Small, attend an actual high school?  The past three days have been...new.  stressful, exciting, horrifying, and confusing.  I've had to fight back tears more than once, been late to class twice, and have yet to understant how to write in "IB"  Things will get better, and then maybe i won't constantly feel like i'm just visiting.

San Pancho, Nayarit, Mexico

I am home.  Back into jeans and away from all that humidity.  Other than getting the worst sunburn i have ever seen, the trip was a success.  We basically did everything...hiking, swimming, snorkeling, surfing, kayaking, boat ride, shopping, horseback riding.  The sunsets were beautiful and the nearly nightly thunder and lightning an intersting spectacle.  i thought there would be more to say, and there probably is.  Maybe i'll tell you about meeting "Deigo Luna" sometime.  well, back to federal way.  "we should have stayed in mexico" my mother declared on the plane.  In some ways yes, but I think i'd miss all of you too much.
